Something about sailboats was so iconic, something about them felt like freedom.
Catch the wind in your sails was a cliche for a reason.
The ocean air, filled with salt, brought me a unique comfort. Wind in my sails brought a vision of adventure, freedom, and excitement. My lungs filled with clean expansion, a deep breath of content. The air was soft and fresh.
A boat symbolized so much freedom to me, out in the open ocean. Infinity in front of me, I felt alive. The ocean was endless and beautiful. It was my home and my salvation. The blood pounded in my veins in time with the waves, my body in tune with the tide.
I wanted to be in that boat, the wind in my hair, the mainland at my back. Staring out. The sun felt warm on my skin.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the wind in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
